A lifelong commitment to

     helping people & solving problems

Dr. Jon Torres is a family medicine physician and is a current candidate for Randolph Township Council. Jon has lived in Randolph for 11 years with his wife of 18 years, two teenagers, and three dogs. Jon has been an active member of Randolph Boy Scout organizations, serving with Pack 50 as both Cubmaster and Den Leader for five years, and with Troops 50 and 109 as an Assistant Scoutmaster since 2018.

Jon has been employed by Morristown Medical Center in the Department of Family Medicine where he's overseen the family medicine residency program since it began in 2013, and also founded the osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine residency program in 2016. He provides office-based medical care from his office in Morristown, NJ and hospital care at Morristown Medical Center, including overseeing a CoVID-19 unit during the peak of the pandemic in 2020.

Jon received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Harvard University in 2003. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree in 2009 from Rowan Virtua University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009. He also completed residencies in both Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) in 2012 & 2013 at Rowan. He currently continues to volunteer with Rowan as a Clinical Associate Professor in Family Medicine and OMM.

When he felt called to serve his patient's needs by pursuing government service, he earned his master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) through Rutgers University in 2020, with a focus on Public & Non-profit Performance Management.

Jon has been involved with national medical specialty associations for 17 years, receiving fellowship awards from both the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) and the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO). He also volunteers at the state level where he serves as Vice-President for the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons (NJAOPS). He's developed educational programming to serve medical students, residents and practicing physicians through these volunteer opportunities.

Jon’s extensive experience as a physician educator gives him unique insight into combining individual shared values, objective data, expert input and shared decision making to determine the best possible course moving forward.

Randolph is composed of residents with different backgrounds, values and challenges. Jon knows how to listen, gather information, ask relevant questions, and then identify a solution. More importantly, he understands the importance of ensuring that the community supports that path forward, and of working collaboratively to achieve our goals, together.

We deserve better.
